Charge and Sprint (and armor of mist) do stack but there is a maximum movement rate. However, such stacking can get you out of negative movement penalties such as Mind Freeze (not cripple, obviously). Just some thing I didn't notice mentioned while glancing over.

I was hoping I made it clear in my guide that Sprint was only a backup skill, not a primary speed enchancing skill. Whenever running through enemies I usually do the same routine... cast Armor of Mist, start running, once Armor of Mist runs out I switch to Charge, and if I'm still around enemies at this point I've probably done something wrong, and in that case I may use sprint. But I mainly use sprint when there's no enemies around, just to slightly make my transition to the next bunch of enemies faster.

Just 1 suggestion, if your expecting to take alot of dmg from atks, I suggest Mist Form[Elite], you cant use Charge! though.
edit-Forgot to say what it does, you cant deal or take dmg from attacks
|
I did a quick test trying to run Lornar's Pass with Mist Form instead of Charge and it simply doesn't work. It's a big loss not having access to Charge but that's not the main problem, the big problem with Mist Form is that a lot of damage gets through regardless. If I understand it correctly Mist Form will only negate damage which comes from normal attacks, but damage from skills still apply. For instance, when a wurm emerges from the ground that counts as a skill and you'll get damage. The ice imps, icegolems and avicara spellcasters use a ton of spells and those can do a lot of damage.

Elona Reach!
The only mission in the desert which is runnable (there's runners advertising to do the Dunes of Despair and Thirsty River missions, but those missions has to be fought through, you can run completely through them). And it's very easy once you've gotten the hang of it. It has very stable spawns and there's little risk once you've learned how to do it. Since it'd be slightly extensive to write, I'll refrain from writing a guide for how to run this mission unless there's demand for it.
PLEASE!! i cant run it at all, i die with the last crystal!!

GJ on the guide!
What's interesting is The helm was the best kept secret for more than 6months.
I have told other runners out of courtesy, but because everyone rushed through the game and skipped HOD they missed it entirely.
Not to meantion before the update the helm was not that widely used still.
I have taught many people to run in game.
Guides are good, but I just can't express the exact science of running in text.
Sectus I can teach you how to run the shiverpeaks as I specialize in it.

Great guide! I'll try it tomorrow and tell u something.
It'd be great if you do another with W/Mo, to compare.
Does anybody have links of more Running Videos?
Edit: I cant download your video.

Well, I was planning on adding info on how to run southern shiverpeaks, but I haven't been succesful so far unfortunately. I took a very long break from Guild Wars, and when I returned from the break I managed to level my monk completely and get the appropriate equipment but I haven't been able to complete any runs. Although I've got some information which might help me. I'll try some more later. On the other hand, I'm probably be busy just playing Factions, so it's gonna take a while before I do anything related to running.
I've updated the original post with some slight changes to the running guide.
I did also get a nice W/Mo build for droknar runs. Thanks to a mate of mine called Humdrum.
The skills are:
Purge Conditions, Charge, Sprint, Balanced Stance, Healing Signet, Endure Pain, Mending and Holy Veil
It took a while before I got used to the build, but it works fine. Executing it isn't drastically different from using my W/E build, but there's some changes. Speed buffs are only used when running away from enemies (unlike my W/E build where I'm using running skills almost constantly when enemies are around). Holy veil and purge are great counters against some nasty hexes and conditions, but holy veil is rather slow to use.
I'll try to get a video of the build in use some day later.

Hmm, I'll try to contact you later, I really wanna learn how to properly run every route in the southern shiverpeaks.
Also, to those with problems downloading my videos, can you try again? I just did a quick test and the download seems to work just fine.

After three months i'm sure there a lot of changes to take into consideration that those older posters had to overcome. Good luck learning.

Well, my attribute points for the W/E build is 11 water magic, tactics maxed and rest into strength.
With the W/Mo build I had enough into healing prayers to make Mending give +3 regen, tactics maxed and rest into strength.
I think I spoke a bit about optimal weapon and shield in the main guide. But to make it short: any +5 energy sword or axe with a health or enchantment mod is ideal. And a shield with reduced damage while enchanted or in stance is ideal.
I'm not sure what kind of new green weapons you can get in Factions, but I'm willing to bet there's some weapons there which would be good for running.

Sorry I must have missed the part about weaps and sheild.
I am beginning to think you are better off with a -2 sheild while in a stance vice the -2 while enchanted. (Having the +45HP goes without saying.) With all the shatter enchants from Kryta onward it just seems to make sense since you are using sprint or another stance anyway most of the time you are running away from bad guys.
There is a "bronze sheild" you can craft in factions. Its at the weapons crafter right outside of Kaieng City in Buk Dek (sp?).
both sheilds are -2, +45HP while enchanted or while in a stance. (you can get either/ or when you craft the sheild) Right now I have the enchant one.
I think I am going to try out the stance sheild and see how that works. Now I have to find a clean weapon to put on the optimal mods.
